Day #5 - Down Granny Square Laine - Filet Mesh Square 1

Day #5 - Down Granny Square Laine - Filet Mesh Square 1

Filet Mesh Square

This unique red square is rated at an Intermediate Skill Level and the pattern came from The Granny Square Book by Margaret Hubert. It starts out working in rows and than moves to rounds. It contains single, double and chain stitches.

I used 4 weight yarn and H/5mm hook
Square size is 6 1/4 Inches

This square intrigued me. How were those squares made in the center without a magic ring? I thought it was going to be harder than it looked, which is why I did it early in this journey.  I was actually quite happy with how easy this square was to stitch!

The square starts with chain stitches and a couple rows and than converts over to rounds. I thought it was genius! You can't beat the unique look!!

I hope you'll stop in and see the square of the day or follow along on TikTok or Instagram or YouTube or Facebook

Until tomorrow ~ Happy Stitching
