Down Granny Square Laine - Welcome

Granny Square A Day

I LOVE granny squares. I mean really ๐Ÿ’– love ๐Ÿ’– granny squares. If I see a pattern with a chain 260, my crochet heart loses a few stitches.ย  If you look at my project gallery you'll see I make mostly granny stuff.ย

Why do I love granny squares so much? I don't really have a definate answer to that. Maybe it's my short attention span - ๐Ÿฟ๏ธ squirrel.ย  My artsy fartsy self loves that you can make something the same size and each one be different. Non-crocheters don't notice the differences amoung that squares, but I know and you would know. If you look at the green and orange blanket I made my daughter, each color square is different. I think it just adds some texture and creativity to the blanket.

All that being said, I got the PERFECT Mother's Day Gift this year... The Granny Square Book, Second Edition by Margaret Hubert (Amazon link coming).ย  It has 100 granny squares and 25 projects! What I like the most, it has the written directions and also the graph pattern!ย  I do best with graph patterns, I tend to lose my place with written instructions.

So, thanks to this most awesome book and any other squares I find, I'm going to do aย Down Granny Square Laine - A Granny A Day.ย  I'm only going to promise 100, but with my love of granny squares, it will probably be more. I'm going to aim for a year...did I mention the short attention span ๐Ÿคฃ ?ย

I hope you'll stop in and see the square of the day or follow along on TikTok or Instagram or YouTube or Facebook.ย  If you know of a great square, let me know and I'll add it to the rotation!!!

๐Ÿงถ Happy Stitching, Stephanie

PS: If the square pattern is free, I will include the link. If it is a paid pattern, no pattern will be included.

PPSS: I promise there will not be any pop-up advertising on these posts!!ย  You'll be able to view interuption freeย
